Historic Resource Survey

Completed in July of 1977, this survey documented historic structures along HWY 76 and some of the main side roads adjoining it. This survey did not include many of the historic sites off of this area. These items listed in the report were, at the time, eligible for historic preservation.

A Grave Affair

A Grave Affair is an ongoing historical reenactment series that brings Towns County’s past to life right at the gravesides of the people who shaped our community. Each event features local actors portraying real pioneers, leaders, and everyday residents, sharing their stories where their history lives on.
