Join the Towns County Historical Society on July 25 at 5 PM for the Laurel, Lace, & Legacy Gala, an elegant evening benefiting the restoration of the historic Berrong-Oakley House in Hiawassee, hosted at the Rollins Center at Young Harris College.

Guests will enjoy a plated meal, live music, a silent auction, and a beer and wine bar, all while supporting one of Towns County’s most meaningful preservation projects. Each ticket includes one complimentary drink ticket.

Built in 1905, the Berrong-Oakley House is one of Hiawassee’s last remaining Victorian-era homes. Through its restoration, the Towns County Historical Society is working to preserve this important landmark and prepare it for future use as a community event, heritage, and cultural center.

Proceeds from the gala will support ongoing restoration efforts and help bring this vision to life. By attending, sponsoring, or donating, you are helping preserve a piece of local history while investing in a space that will serve residents, visitors, families, students, and community groups for generations to come.

Formal attire is requested.

Laurel, Lace & Legacy Dinner Menu

Inspired by Southern hospitality and timeless tradition, guests will enjoy a plated dinner featuring a classic Caesar salad, grilled chicken with a white wine sauce, roasted potatoes, buttered lemon broccoli, and dinner rolls. The evening will end with a sweet dessert course, with water and tea served throughout the meal. (Gluten-free meal by request when purchasing tickets).

Dues-paid members of the Towns County Historical Society (as of April 30, 2026) receive a discount for their tickets. If you did not receive your unique discount code, email townscountyhistory.org, and we will verify your membership.

When using a discount code, you may purchase up to the maximum number of discounted tickets listed in your email. Any additional tickets will need to be purchased in a separate order. Please place both orders under the same name so we can make sure your entire party is seated together at the same table.
